Privacy policy

Last updated: 20 September 2026 · The version published at /legal/privacy/ is the one that applies.

Controller

The controller is the company that operates humanizertools.com, based in Switzerland. It is named in full, with its registered address and VAT number, on the payment page and on every invoice. If you need those details without buying anything - to exercise a right below, or to write to a supervisory authority - ask at privacy@humanizertools.com and we will send them.

Privacy contact for everything else: privacy@humanizertools.com.

We process personal data under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Visiting the site

The site is static and served by Cloudflare. Standard server logs are produced (IP address, time, requested URL, user agent) and used to keep the service running and to defend against attacks. We do not build profiles from them and we do not merge them with anything else. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

No third-party analytics, no advertising pixels, no external fonts. Logos and screenshots are served from our own domain, so opening a listing does not disclose your IP address to the tool vendor.

Click counting

When you follow an outbound link to a listed tool, a counter for that tool is incremented for that day. What is stored is a tool slug, a date and a number. No identifier, no IP, no cookie, nothing that can be linked back to you.

Submitting a tool

To process a submission we store what you enter in the form: tool name, URL, category, description, your name, email address, company and country, the tier chosen, and any logo or screenshots you upload. We also store a salted hash of your IP address as abuse protection - never the address itself.

Legal basis: performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering into one (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without these details a submission cannot be processed.

Case data is kept for the life of the listing and afterwards for the statutory retention periods that apply to business records - ten years under Swiss commercial law for anything with an invoice attached. Rejected submissions with no payment are deleted after 12 months.

Payment

Payments run through Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. We never see or store your card details. Stripe receives your email address, the amount, the case reference and the billing address you enter at checkout, and processes it as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We store the Stripe identifiers, the amount, and the payment and refund dates.

Email

Transactional email about an open case is sent through Resend. Each message is logged with the case reference, the template, the recipient address, the subject and the delivery status, so we can tell whether you were informed and so nothing goes out twice.

Newsletter

Double opt-in. On signup we store the email address, the time, a salted hash of the IP address and the referring page as proof of consent, and send a confirmation link. Without the click we do not add you and the address is deleted after seven days. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), withdrawable at any time through the link in every issue. We do not track opens or clicks.

Corrections and removal requests

We store what you send: the listing concerned, your description, any evidence link, your name if given, and your email address, so we can reply and so the correction is auditable. Kept for three years, because a correction history is part of how an editorial record can be checked.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing rests on consent you may withdraw it at any time, with effect for the future. Write to privacy@humanizertools.com; we answer within one month. You may also complain to a supervisory authority - in Switzerland the FDPIC, in the EU the authority where you live.

A note specific to this directory

We do not operate any of the tools listed here and we never see the text you put into them. When you paste text into a humanizer or a detector, that text goes to that vendor under their policy, not ours. What each vendor says about keeping it is recorded on the listing where we have checked it.
