Editorial policy
This directory sells reviews to the same companies it reviews. That is a conflict of interest, and the only honest way to run it is to state exactly where the line is drawn.
The line
Money buys attention: a review that happens sooner, a badge, and at the top tier three days of labelled placement. Money does not buy the outcome of that review, the wording of a listing, a position in any list, or the removal of an accurate statement.
Technically: the sort function in src/lib/tools.mjs reads neither tier nor payment
status, and a test enforces that on every build. Editorially: everything below. Commercially:
a badge people stop believing is worth nothing to the next buyer either, which is the most
durable reason to keep it clean.
What we list
- Tools that exist, work, and are reachable at a stable address.
- Tools whose advertised features are actually present.
- Wrappers on someone else's model, when the wrapping adds something and the dependency is disclosed.
- Detectors, humanizers and bypass tools alike. Listing both sides is the point.
What we do not list
- Products marketed for impersonating a real person, forging records, or producing fake reviews and testimonials.
- Products whose marketing guarantees undetectability, or cites a third-party test that does not exist.
- Thin shells over a public API with no added function and no disclosure.
- Domains younger than 30 days, and parked domains.
- Anything a security check flags as malicious.
How we write about detection
A vendor's detector claims are printed as claims, next to the word "claims". Our own numbers are printed with the date they were measured and the panel they came from. We never write that a tool "is undetectable", because that sentence has no expiry date and every real result does.
For detectors, the same rule runs the other way: we print the vendor's accuracy figure as the vendor's figure, and we say on every detector page that false positives on genuine human writing are a known, unsolved problem.
Advertising
Paid placement is visibly labelled Ad and technically marked
rel="sponsored". Featured slots run three days and then end; nothing renews
silently. A category sponsor is exclusive, labelled, and cannot appear inside an editorial
ranking.
Corrections
Anyone can report an error - vendors, readers, competitors. We answer within five working days. A fact that is wrong gets corrected and the listing shows the new check date. A judgement you dislike is not an error, and disagreement with a score is answered rather than actioned.
Who writes this
A small editorial team. Reviews are signed internally, every state change is logged, and the log is what we look at when someone asks why a listing says what it says. See about us.
